Student Alert: Beware of Fraud and Misinformation

Recently, unauthorized individuals and organizations have been found forging documents, signatures, and official seals of Ton Duc Thang University to mislead students about overseas exchange programs. These fraudulent activities have provided false information and shown signs of deception, potentially harming students’ rights, misleading parents, and affecting the university’s reputation.

To ensure student safety and protect their interests, the university issues the following important notices:

  1. Beware of Impersonation Scams:

    • Some individuals may falsely claim to be officers from law enforcement agencies or other governmental bodies. In certain cases, they may even wear official uniforms to appear legitimate.
    • These individuals may attempt to deceive students by spreading false information, demanding money, or coercing them into fake investigations to misappropriate assets.
    • If students receive suspicious calls or messages of this nature, they should remain calm, inform their parents, and immediately report the incident to the university or relevant authorities for proper legal handling.
  2. Rely Only on Official University Channels:

    • Students should only trust information from the university’s official communication channels to avoid scams or misinformation.
    • Students must verify the source if they receive messages, calls, or any online communication claiming to be from the university—especially through social media or other unofficial platforms.
    • In such cases, students should promptly contact their academic advisors, faculty offices, the Student Affairs Office, the Inspectorate, the Legal Affairs & Security Office, or the Student Support & Counseling Office for proper guidance and legal support.
  3. Verification of Official University Information:

    • For any confirmation regarding university-related matters, students should immediately contact their faculty office or the Student Affairs Office (Room A.0003).
    • Hotline: 028 37755054

The university urges all students to stay vigilant, verify information through official channels, and report any suspicious activity to ensure their safety and well-being.
