Application in Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Group (APRES)

1. Introduction

In modern life, the trend “Return to natural” becomes popular, and the use of natural products increase sharply in recent years. As a result, studies on natural products attract the interest of scientists all over the world.

Vietnam is a tropical country with a hot and humid climate, which is an excellent source of potential natural products for the treatment. The APRES group was established to exploit the strength of natural products in Vietnam applied for therapy and promote the value of these products in the global market. APRES brought together scientists and lecturers who have a particular interest in Vietnamese herbal research.

2. Mission and Vision

Our vision is to build APRES as a leading research group into natural products that promote Vietnamese medicinal plants’ pharmaceutical value.

Our mission is to cooperate with the local governments to discover the medicinal plant in these areas and establish products from these herbs. These products contribute to increase the reputation of Vietnamese natural products and enhance the income of local governments as well as Ton Duc Thang University.

3. Research topics

Discover bioactive compounds from Vietnamese natural products, isolate pure compounds to be used as the reference standards for quality control and bioactivity evaluation.

Develop modern preparation of natural products, transfer to the manufacturer to establish high-quality drugs and functional foods for local and global consumption.
