Dr. LE QUOC VIET HONORED WITH THE 2025 GOLDEN GLOBE AWARD IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

On the evening of October 29 in Hanoi, the 2025 Vietnam Golden Globe Awards for Science and Technology were held with great solemnity, featuring the participation of national leaders, ministries, and young scientists from across the country. Among the ten outstanding awardees, Dr. Le Quoc Viet – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Management at Ton Duc Thang University- was honored in the category of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology.

This prestigious recognition celebrates Dr. Viet’s continuous dedication to scientific research, particularly his groundbreaking work on nano drug delivery systems combined with immunotherapy – an innovative approach described as a “self-activating vaccine system” that enables the body to recognize and eliminate cancer cells. His research not only advances academic knowledge but also holds great promise for future clinical applications in cancer treatment.

Inspired by his grandmother’s battle with cancer and the severe side effects of chemotherapy, Dr. Viet devoted his career to developing safer and more effective treatments for patients. After earning a full doctoral scholarship at Seoul National University (Republic of Korea), he focused his research on biocompatible nanomaterials capable of targeted delivery, immune activation, and reduced systemic toxicity.

To date, Dr. Le Quoc Viet has published 31 ISI-indexed international papers (including 26 Q1 journals), obtained three patents in Korea, and successfully transferred two research products to pharmaceutical companies in Vietnam. His works have appeared in world-renowned journals such as ACS Nano, Advanced Materials, Biomaterials, and Nature Communications.

Reflecting on his journey, Dr. Viet shared:
