On the morning of July 11, 2016, The First Asia Conference on Pharmaceutical Sciences (ASIAPHARM I) was officially inaugurated at Ton Duc Thang University. The conference was held from July 11 to July 12, 2016, and was jointly organized by Ton Duc Thang University and Seoul National University.

The event brought together a distinguished group of scientists, experts, and researchers from numerous countries, including the United States, South Korea, Australia, China, Hungary, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, and Vietnam. Notably, the conference welcomed leading scholars from internationally renowned institutions such as Seoul National University and MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States.

An International Platform for Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences

ASIAPHARM was established as a recurring international conference series, hosted alternately in Vietnam and South Korea. Although it carries the name “Asia Conference,” the event has attracted broad international participation and aspires to become a globally recognized conference in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences.

Under the theme “Advances in Pharmaceutical and Biosciences,” ASIAPHARM I served as a forum for academic exchange and collaboration across a wide range of pharmaceutical disciplines, including:

In addition to fostering scientific exchange, the conference played an important role in strengthening collaboration between Vietnamese pharmaceutical companies and researchers from around the world. The event provided opportunities for academia and industry to discuss emerging trends, research findings, and potential partnerships.

Alongside the scientific sessions, an exhibition featuring pharmaceutical companies, laboratory equipment suppliers, and analytical technology providers was organized. More than 20 domestic and international organizations participated in the exhibition, showcasing innovative products, technologies, and services relevant to pharmaceutical research, education, and industry.

ASIAPHARM I marked an important milestone in the internationalization of pharmaceutical sciences in Vietnam and laid the foundation for the continued development of the ASIAPHARM conference series as a prestigious international platform for scientific exchange and collaboration.
