PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP IN PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURING: CONNECTING ACADEMIC LEARNING WITH INDUSTRY PRACTICE
From June 15 to August 5, 2026, students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ton Duc Thang University participate in the Professional Internship in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing at three pharmaceutical companies:
- S.P.M Joint Stock Company
- Phong Phu Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company
- Mebiphar Pharmaceutical and Medical Biological Joint Stock Company
The internship consists of five days (ten sessions) at each company, providing students with opportunities to gain first-hand experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, strengthen their professional knowledge, and deepen their understanding of pharmaceutical production in accordance with current quality standards.
Throughout the internship, students explore the overall operations of each company, its product portfolio, and quality management systems based on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Storage Practice (GSP), and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). They also gain insights into warehouse operations, inventory management, storage procedures, and the functions of the Research and Development (R&D) and Quality Control (QC) departments, including analytical testing, batch manufacturing documentation, drug registration dossiers, and finished product quality specifications.
The program also includes visits to GMP-compliant manufacturing facilities and quality control laboratories, allowing students to observe various stages of pharmaceutical production and gain a comprehensive understanding of industrial manufacturing and quality assurance practices.
The internship course bridges classroom learning with industry practice while fostering professional attitudes, workplace skills, and a deeper appreciation of the roles and responsibilities within the pharmaceutical manufacturing process.
