In Pharmacy, Pharmacognosy plays very important role. Vietnam is a country with strengths in a variety of medicinal herbs and great potential in developing into medicines. At the Faculty of Pharmacy - Ton Duc Thang University, Pharmacology is a subject that is very popular with students, and is one of the spearheads in scientific research.

On April 20, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a seminar with the topic: "Orientation for the development of Vietnam's Pharmacognosy field".
Attending the discussion, there were guests:
- Associate Professor Ha Minh Hien, Head of Training Science Department, Institute for Drug Quality Control
- Dr. Nguyen Thanh Triet, Faculty of Traditional Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Ho Chi Minh City
On the side of Faculty of Pharmacy, Ton Duc Thang University:
- Professor Nguyen Minh Duc, Former Head of Faculty of Pharmacy, Lecturer of Faculty of Pharmacy, Ton Duc Thang University.
- Dr. Nguyen Minh Hien, Assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ton Duc Thang University.
- Dr. Vu Huynh Kim Long, Teaching Officer, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ton Duc Thang University.

The seminar helped TDTU Pharmacy students better understand the field of natural compounds in general and the field of medicinal herbs in Vietnam in particular. Students will receive useful information about the advantages, disadvantages as well as opportunities to orient their future career development and stimulate students' passion for the field of Pharmacognosy.
