Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ton Duc Thang University complete their Professional Internship at Pharmaceutical Enterprises during the First Semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year

Since its establishment in 2015, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) has become one of the most reputable institutions for pharmaceutical education nationwide. With a mission to educate pharmacists who have solid expertise, are proficient in skills, and demonstrate professional attitudes.

To achieve its educational objectives, the Faculty of Pharmacy at TDTU has developed a 181-credit pharmacist training program with a duration of five years. Throughout the program, students are equipped with comprehensive professional knowledge, practical skills, and insights into real-world pharmaceutical practices.

The most distinctive feature of the pharmacist training program at TDTU is its practical and professional internship modules. In their final year, students undertake professional internships at hospital pharmacy departments or pharmaceutical enterprises. Students can select their internship position based on their academic performance, specialization preferences, and personal interests. The host organizations for these internships are reputable entities in the fields of pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, business, retail pharmacy, and hospital pharmacy.

During the internship period, students receive hands-on guidance from their host organizations, covering all relevant tasks and processes related to the pharmaceutical field. Despite initial challenges in adapting to corporate culture, most students find the internship activities engaging and highly beneficial. At the end of the internship, each student’s performance is evaluated by both the host organization and the Faculty of Pharmacy instructors. This evaluation plays a significant role in determining their eligibility for graduation. Furthermore, through the internship experience, many students leave a positive impression on their host organizations, paving the way for job opportunities immediately after completing the internship.

The positive outcomes of the professional internship program significantly enhance the ability of TDTU Faculty of Pharmacy students to easily integrate into the work environments of pharmaceutical enterprises and quickly secure attractive job opportunities after graduation. Consequently, the internship program has proven to deliver substantial benefits for students, enterprises, and the university — while contributing to the improved quality of pharmacists trained at TDTU.
