Vietnam–Korea Bio-Chem Network Seminar

On December 27, 2023, at the 10F Auditorium of Ton Duc Thang University, Organoid Sciences organized the seminar entitled “Vietnam–Korea Bio-Chem Network.”

The seminar provided participants with valuable insights into scientific achievements and research developments in the field of biochemistry in both Vietnam and South Korea. The event offered lecturers, researchers, and students accurate and up-to-date information on recent advances in biochemical sciences while creating opportunities for direct interaction and academic exchange with distinguished speakers.

Program Highlights

Session 1

1. Dr. Le Thi Phuong (on behalf of Associate Professor Tran Ngoc Quyen)
Presented recent achievements and research directions in the synthesis of multifunctional biomaterials based on natural polymers and their potential applications in Vietnam.

2. Dr. Le Minh Thong
Presented research achievements and future directions in animal genome biodiversity for sustainable development.

3. Dr. Vu Van Kien
Presented advances in ultra-sensitive single-molecule testing within individual cells and its applications in cancer research and genetic disease diagnostics.

4. Associate Professor Jongman Yoo
Presented the achievements and potential of 3D organoid cell culture technology for biomedical and pharmaceutical applications.

Session 2

5. Dr. Truong Minh Dung
Provided updates on Vietnamese students studying in South Korea and discussed the rationale and future objectives of the Vietnam–Korea Bio-Chem Network (VKBC).

6. Dr. Do Thi Thu Hien
Presented research on the biochemical properties of Vietnamese medicinal plants.

7. Dr. Pham Duc Toan
Introduced the Faculty of Pharmacy Journal Club and highlighted opportunities for collaboration between the Faculty of Pharmacy and researchers and lecturers affiliated with the Vietnam–Korea Bio-Chem Network through future Journal Club activities.

8. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Qua
Presented applications of microfluidic technology in biomedical sciences.

The Faculty of Pharmacy sincerely thanks all participants for attending the seminar. We hope that students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ton Duc Thang University, gained valuable knowledge and insights from the presentations and discussions.

The event served as an excellent platform for academic exchange and international collaboration, strengthening connections between researchers from Vietnam and South Korea while promoting advancements in biochemistry, biomedical sciences, and pharmaceutical research.
