The Faculty of Pharmacy at Ton Duc Thang University co-organized a scientific seminar on the application of lipids in pharmaceutical formulation technology.
On the morning of May 6, 2026, an international scientific seminar entitled “Application of Functional Lipids in the Development of High-Performance Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms” was held at the 10F Auditorium of Ton Duc Thang University. The event attracted a large number of scientists, lecturers, researchers, industry representatives, and students in the fields of pharmaceutical sciences and biomedical sciences.
The seminar served as an academic forum to update participants on emerging trends in modern pharmaceutical technology while strengthening collaboration among educational institutions, research institutes, and industry partners in research and technology transfer activities.
High-Impact Scientific Topics
Within the seminar program, scientific presentations focused on the role of lipids in the development of modern drug delivery systems. Key topics included:
- The application of Lipid-Based Formulations (LBFs) to improve drug solubility and bioavailability;
- Strategies for designing lipid matrix systems in controlled-release dosage forms;
- The potential of lipids in the development of topical pharmaceutical products;
- Directions for collaboration between academia and industry in pharmaceutical research, development, and technology transfer.
These topics not only provided valuable scientific insights but also addressed practical challenges in pharmaceutical manufacturing and product development.
Participation of International Experts
The seminar was honored to welcome experts from Gattefossé and the Asia–Pacific region, including:
- Dr. Philippe Caisse
- Dr. Hongyi Ouyang
- Mr. Angelito Delos Reyes
- Mr. Kevin Kim
Through their presentations and in-depth discussions, the speakers shared the latest developments, practical experiences, and international perspectives on research and development in advanced pharmaceutical formulation technologies.
Promoting Networking and Research Collaboration
In addition to its academic value, the seminar provided a valuable platform for networking among universities, research institutes, and more than 80 companies operating in the pharmaceutical and health sciences sectors. The event is regarded as an important foundation for fostering applied research collaborations, developing high-quality human resources, and expanding future opportunities for technology transfer.
